The Winter Edition

This winter, I’m opening a new edition of the Flute Challenges.
All challenges are free and available directly on this site.

Each challenge is designed as a short, focused training format that complements regular practice. They are practical, musical, and built around real performance situations.

All challenges are self-guided and can be done at your own pace.

Choose one challenge, or combine several depending on your goals.

A 7-day orchestral excerpt simulator designed to prepare you for auditions, competitions, and other high-pressure performances.

You will train:

  • Reliability under pressure

  • Mental resilience and focus

  • Consistency without warm-up guarantees

  • Presence and musical clarity in exposed situations

This challenge is for players preparing for orchestral auditions or similar professional settings.

The Audition Game

For advanced level and up

A structured and musical approach to scale practice, inspired by Taffanel & Gaubert’s famous No. 4 exercise.

Each day of this 6-day challenge offers a different focus, helping you develop:

  • Control and intonation

  • Awareness of tendencies

  • Evenness, flexibility, and tone

  • A more mindful relationship to daily technique work

This challenge is ideal if you want your scale practice to feel purposeful and musical rather than mechanical.

The Game of Scales

For intermediate level and up

An expressive 8 day challenge inspired by opera repertoire and bel canto style.

The focus is on:

  • Character and phrasing

  • Musical intention

  • Sound imagination

  • Playing beyond the notes

This challenge invites you to explore personality and expression and learn how to sing on the flute.

The Prima Donna Flute Challenge

For intermediate level and up

The Fall Edition

Regain your sound, clarity, stamina, flexibility, finger technique, and articulation in a short time.
This is a chance to reset—to open a clean slate, free of old habits that may have been holding you back.

Each day balances warm-ups, technical drills, and music-making to help you build confidence and get inspired.

The program is designed to improve breath control, tone, technique, and endurance. You will probably want to use some of the exercises in your practice after the challenge is over!

Back in shape challenge

The Etude challenges

Three challenges for beginner, intermediate or advanced

40 days of focused, structured practice with one legendary method by one of the greatest flute masters, Marcel Moyse.

A deep dive into tone, finger technique, and articulation—guided and goal-oriented.

This challenge is built around two of his legendary books: De la Sonorité and Gammes et Arpèges.
👉 You’ll need a copy of both in order to participate.

The 40 days are divided into 8 phases of 5 days each, with every phase focusing on a different theme, approaching Moyse’s exercises from new angles, helping us discover extra layers of benefit in the practice.
